I use gouache, acrylic paints, pastels and wax resist techniques to produce my bright and colourful illustrations. I like to cut up my original artwork to make new designs. This cut and stick technique gives a surreal effect to my illustrations. I favour simple pencil sketches - people portrayals in everyday situations. My influences are illustrators Shirley Hughes and Christian Birmingham.
I have worked on two large projects to date, both failed to attract a publisher, but I believe them to be charming nonetheless:
Well Fancy That! Is a children’s picture storybook, a moralistic tale about Joe the Zookeeper and an April Fools Day prank played out by the zoo animals.
Babies for all Seasons consists of four multicultural dress-up doll figure books. Each book contains eight outfits and three coloured pencilled illustrations..
Other illustrations are my contributions to various competitions or art job calls.
I hope you like my work. Please contact me with any comments, requests, to employ my services, or to buy existing unpublished illustrations.
